(Personally, Ivan knows his outburst causing their reveal is going to get him some reprimanding, and he'd rather do a little damage control on that end.) Letting her go would be a sign of goodwill in hopes of joining forces with whatever group she's working with, but it could also bring attention to areas they'd rather keep hidden for now.
